Jadé Brycki on the reality of juggling motherhood, career, social media and everything in between
Sunday, 10 May 2026
In this episode of Sunday Sessions, Samantha Brett, Founder of Naked Sundays Sunscreen, sits down with Australian creator and entrepreneur Jadé Brycki (@jadetunchy) for a raw conversation about motherhood, social media, identity, and building a career online.
From becoming one of Australia’s original influencers to navigating public scrutiny, Jadé opens up about the pressure of perfection on Instagram, why she created a second account to show a more unfiltered side of life, and how motherhood completely changed her perspective on success, confidence, and balance.
The episode dives into the evolution of influencer culture, raising children in the social media era, personal growth after heartbreak, and the realities behind building a personal brand online. Jadé also shares her favourite beauty rituals, how she protects her mental health, and the lessons she’s learned from growing up in front of the internet.
Honest, funny, emotional and relatable, this is a conversation about reinventing yourself, letting go of perfection, and finding confidence in who you are both online and offline.

You were one of the original influences. I wish I could just go back and speak to old me and let her know what was actually coming. Jadé built an empire from perfectly curated Instagram squares before creating a second account that showed the raw unfiltered reality behind it all. It's so rare, especially someone in the public eye like yourself, to see something so real. I don't want people to feel alone in things. I don't want people to feel like they're the only one who looks like this. Today the mum of two joins us to talk motherhood, social media, reinvention and what really happens when the filters come off. Six single the hot people, so I wanted to show myself in what I felt was not the hottest environment. How are you managing the juggle now? I'm not. The juggle is managing me. Let's get into it. Jardé is low. Hello. Welcome to Sunday sessions. Thank you for having me. Thank you for being here. I'm so excited. You were one of the original influences of all time. I'll take it. Thank you. When you first started and it wasn't really a thing to be an influencer. Was there a plan? Oh god no. I was just posting for fun and I had absolutely no idea what it would turn into. I still remember like the first package I ever got like the first gifting and I was like this is crazy like these free clothes turned up at my door. I couldn't believe it. I don't think there were any obligations at the time. It was more just like where are our clothes in photos? You know like it wasn't like nothing was set in stone. I'm pretty sure it was sarbo skirt actually and it was just like one of the best days of my life and I remember the package was so big they sent me like six garments or something and I I can't tell you how that felt like it was just so surreal. So for it to have turned into what it's turned into now I just like I wish I could just go back and speak to old me and let her know what was actually coming. What would you say? I don't know. I think I just honestly sometimes it just feels like all my wildest dreams have come true and that's like how how many people get to say that like I'm so grateful you know like yeah do you think anything contributed to that? Yeah I've just been speaking to Lisa Hyde from Chavoke and she was telling me it's all about mindset is that for you as well did you always have a mindset where anything is possible and dreams can come true? Yes absolutely that was that was definitely how I thought yeah it was just almost this blind confidence kind of like almost a bit of delusion where it's like you're so confident and you're so just you have such a strong belief in your ability and and in what's going to happen and where things are going to go that like you just don't take no for an answer and it feels like things just fall into your lap. I can relate. Not everyone likes it. No. But where did that come from? This confidence that you could do anything. I don't know I think it might be my mum like my mum's just got this way about her that is just so I just love it it's just so whimsical it's like anything's possible and I love you know what I love about her she never talked down about herself ever like I remember growing up she'd always like buy a new shirt or something and she'd come out and be like don't I look amazing you know and we've like yeah you do mum you know and like looking back that's such a healthy and amazing way to speak to your daughters and I don't think she was doing that on purpose I think she truly was like don't I look amazing like she really believed it so that's probably where my confidence came from yeah and your positivity yeah even just walking into this room you've just lit up the whole room I know people can't feel it watching well I'm sure they actually can but really you've just like come in like sunshine and I just love that okay so you're influencing you're posting for fun yes when did it turn into a job a business I think I the first like paid off for I got was like $50 and I was like wow that's amazing I think about some shoes or something I can't remember but that was I think I think it just I don't remember asking I think someone offered can you do this for $50 and the gifting and I was like yes absolutely and then I realized hang on I can charge people for this like and it just kind of went from there yeah I remember the day or maybe I wasn't around for the day but I remember the time when you were so big as an influencer and all your posts were so beautiful and aesthetic and I remember the day that someone said to me but Jare has another account oh I remember the day because it was such a rare thing at the time where everything on social was so curated and aesthetic yes and then here you were going well hang on a second I have another life yes when did you decide to do that other account um I really being silly and authentic and transparent has always been a part of my brand however it got to a point where I was doing this work that was really refined and clean and upscale and a bit of luxury and it just didn't it didn't work I couldn't do both so I realized I had to kind of separate it for like marketing purposes you know I was like people aren't going to book me for these jobs if I'm like being you know you know a boge in one day and then like wearing you know design a handbag to the next like it doesn't work it doesn't they don't communicate very well so I decided to split up my accounts basically and so I would have this real unfiltered version of myself that was like funny and and you know just silly and then this other side of myself that was a bit more marketable and a bit more you know clean and and more fashion focused yeah but um that's that's kind of why I split the two up what was the response oh I ran love the second account way more I started getting followers like I can't the way my following groom on that second account was just insane I think I don't know what it's sitting at now because I don't use it really anymore but I think it climbed up to like 170k and like a year and a half or something which was just like yeah incredible um and unbelievable and then I had people telling me like I don't even follow your main account haha like I only follow the silly one and I'm like that's so nice thank you but they're both actually me so you're kind of insulting me at the same time they're both me yeah it just one is the different side of me I was actually surprised when I because I assumed that that is now your only account um but I was surprised that you moved to your aesthetic curated account as now your only account so that that means that there is no aesthetic curated but now there's just well I've decided to just you know what if people want to follow me they're gonna have to just be okay with both you know what I mean like I am both like I am both of those people I'm really I can be really silly and um a bit insane at times and I'm also refined and I like nice things and that's just who I am so I feel that surely there's an audience of people who resonate with both and those are the people who I hope will find me clearly they have yeah and you're such a big following and people really look up to you and you have two kids now under two yeah and I think that's well I shouldn't speak for you how is that I was gonna say I think that's changed you how how has that changed you know it has two kids um I love my babies like they're my whole life I think it really puts your I think it puts a lot into perspective I know that's so cliche but it really does it makes you realize what's important because you just don't have the time for all the things that you used to so you have to focus on the things that mean the most to you and you realize what that is when you live every day and you start falling into these routines of doing AB and C it's like okay well those are clearly the things that mean the most to me and to me it's like spending time with my kids and you know continuing to focus on my career and then in whatever smidgen of time I have left like trying to socialize you know so um all the other stuff just fades into the background and you realize how unimportant it is to you now and you can miss it there are times when you miss certain things but this phase this kind of baby young kid phase it doesn't last forever you know I think people forget that sometimes one day you'll be older they'll be at school and you'll have all the exact same freedoms that you used to have except you know in the back of your mind you'll constantly worry about them so you can you can continue those things that you used to do and enjoy and that's what I remind myself sometimes when life gets a bit chaotic and I'm like I really miss having the ability to like land on the couch for a whole day you know I'll be able to do that again and I'm sure I'll miss having them be so little and chaotic as well uh eight weeks post part of you posted yourself in a very real and vulnerable way and yes I've heard you talk about this and I've heard everyone talk about it and it was on the news and it was all over it was on the news uh like the news articles oh right sure many many news articles about it I don't know it was on TV news okay I was like hang on send me a link um it probably was it probably was on the news because you know and why is that on the news and sorry why is that in the news and why is that so newsworthy and why is that such a hot topic of conversation on every podcast everyone's talking about it because it's so rare especially someone in the public I like yourself to see something so real was the reaction a surprise to you um yes I know like I didn't think it would it would land that hard I but I do know in my experience posting things like that that people resonate with like I knew I know it tends to to yeah like resonate with people it sits with them and they respond really well to it and people always like having insight into something that they don't usually have insight into because who's doing that who's who's like not many people are posting that you know what I mean there's a handful of people who are of course um but it's it's it's quite a vulnerable state obviously so a lot of people don't feel comfortable doing that um and one of my priorities in life has always been to make other people feel good about themselves and that's why I do things like that is because I don't want people to feel alone in things I don't want people to feel like they're the only one who looks like this or how come everyone else looks you know a certain way and then and then I don't and it's like well no everyone doesn't look a certain way it's just those are the people who are posting because they look hot and they're going to keep showing themselves looking hot you know what I mean like the people who aren't feeling hot aren't sharing themselves because they're not feeling so confident about it and I read the comments and I think the majority of women who saw that relate to you um 100% and they say this is how I felt postpartum and I did not bounce back and I think you've been credited with really shattering the bounce back culture is was that going through your mind when you posted what was going through your mind no I just wanted to like I was just sick of feeling out of my own like out of depth myself like I there was a lot that I'd gone through when I was pregnant like I'm I'm not sure if you're familiar but my dad felt ill um and then he passed away I whilst I was pregnant and so that was really hard for me and that meant that like I wasn't focusing on things that I might have otherwise like my health my physical health you know eating better blah blah blah blah and I was basically just trying to survive you know whilst working and taking care of my toddler so um I I my body changed quite a bit in that pregnancy compared to my other pregnancy and that's just a normal that's a normal pregnancy for a lot of women a lot of women just eat a bit more food and that's totally fine very normal and very okay and so I was kind of sick of being in this postpartum body that I felt that felt a bit alien you know felt like didn't feel like me I wasn't used to it um I think one of the things that people don't really touch on is that in pregnancy and when your body changes it changes a tiny little bit every day you know you don't go from being um you know whatever size you normally are to just having this big beach ball overnight but the change of postpartum happens overnight once you've had the baby you've got this whole new baby you've got this whole new body sorry overnight and that's also a very different body to the pregnant body so you know you've got this beautiful like rounded out tummy and you feel really gorgeous and glowy or like you know some people do some people don't but I did I loved having my belly and then all of a sudden you've like you're like a deflated balloon you know I didn't like you're a bit floppy um there's like wrinkles everywhere and that's very unfamiliar so um I was I was feeling like not great in my skin and I was like you know what there's a lot of other people were probably feeling like this too and I'm sick of seeing all the hot I'm sick of seeing all the hot people so I wanted to show myself in what I felt was not the hottest environment um to let other mums know that it's okay this is normal we're doing all right you know um and this is all a part of it yeah what's it like now for you you are juggling two kids under two you're working you're being a role model for so many hundreds of thousands and I know that always is daunting for you when you when you think back I've heard you talk about a stadium and people you're like wait I have five time no it's if not ten it's mental as many people in the stadium that follow my every mood so weird how are you managing the juggle now um I'm not the juggle is managing me so it's very much like I don't know how to prioritize right now I'm doing the best that I can I do not have everything all together I am not juggling things very well I pretty much every day feel guilty that I haven't what I feel like these days haven't spent enough spent enough time with my kids I'm like should I be at home should I just like cancel all my work um and just sit at home and be with them you know um so I don't I wouldn't say I am managing the juggle I would say every day is really different every week's really different I'm just doing my best and reminding myself that this is just a phase my husband and I say this all the time we've got a reminding child I like this is not forever it's hard right now for both of us in different ways and we're just doing our best and our priority is you know raising healthy happy kids and we're doing our best to do that and sometimes that looks like me being really busy with work and sometimes that looks like me taking a step back from work so yeah I'm I'm I'm just taking it day by day week by week at the moment well thank you for being here today oh pleasure I really appreciate it and it's Mother's Day yes and this is your first Mother's Day with your two yes yes what are the plans um we're just lunch so far um and I think I'm going to see my mom and my sister in the morning as well yeah for anyone listening and I want to go back to your influencing days but for anyone listening nowadays to be an influencer and to do what you've done and now you have a brand of your own and you're a mom and you have this beautiful life and you have a podcast just a few things and I love the ads of how you're doing it all you're like I'm not no whatever I'm not figuring it out but you have all these things and I think a lot of young girls and I don't know if it's fortunate or I'm fortunate but they are looking at a life as an influencer and I know we don't love that word but they're thinking well that's the easy way out I don't have to do anything in terms of work ethic I can just become an influencer and post and I'll get free things what is your advice to those people um there's definitely perks like I'm not going to sit here and say that like my jobs really hard because whilst there are elements of it that are consuming all consuming of me um I've definitely worked other jobs that consume me in other ways and I'd be more soul sucking so whereas now I feel like I'm nourishing my soul if that makes sense so being being busy can look very different depending on what you're doing um and this is a good busy if if that makes sense um I would say that you've really got to be willing to give a lot of yourself you've got to be you've got to be pretty gutsy you've got to you've got to make yourself stand out somehow you've got to be okay with like not okay with it but know that you will be criticised um and sometimes that can be pretty brutal and intense um when you when you're like in front of the public eye in such a way it's unavoidable you know and a lot of people say well this is what you signed up for and um and I like to remind people that no one signed up for being harassed and bullied and abused um but it is what happens does it still affect you um all these years yeah not as much like sure sometimes a little bit but I just I don't know it feels a big teenager right now you know what I mean like I'm not 14 anymore like you can throw words at me as much as you like like I'm a mother of two I don't care you know what I mean like I've got other priorities there are other things that are more important to me to what you know user 7698 11 is trying to say to tear me down from their fake account you know so your positivity and your attitude and your work ethic is infectious and so beautiful is there any mentor or any book that you've read that's really helped you to understand how you can really elevate that and bring it to you every day I went through a big self-help book phase um years ago um I read breaking the habit of being yourself and that was a big turning point in my life after I read that book it really resonated with me I've tried to go back to it it doesn't work again I don't know why it's just not sitting with me in the same way um I really like the I think it's the seven habits of highly effective people I think it was seven um I've listened to that audiobook a few times and it's it's just got really great little pieces of advice um and sometimes I just go back to it as a reminder of of how to kind of re-ground myself and focus on what's important to me um and also how to yeah I just I just love the idea of being a better person all the time and I'm constantly trying to work on that and I'm not perfect but um I'm doing my best tweak what I can um and then the power of now I don't think I ever finished it but I think the message you get pretty quickly um and I really like the idea of being present I think when you're when you're present in life like really truly present in the moment and you're conscious of it it's funny how differently you walk through the day um so yeah there's a few if you aren't but nothing really in terms of like inspiring me to I guess be like someone else or follow someone else's lead I've always kind of just found my own way and let let myself be my own inspiration I guess to just constantly better me if that makes sense and that's probably why so many people are drawn to you yeah because they see this authenticity from you and they see this confidence and they think well I want to be like that and you're not looking to someone else to emulate that's just you I want to talk about your marriage quickly okay I have listened to so many of your podcasts episodes and you guys just see like I'm thinking my husband would never talk about my post part of him or never even allow if I post on Instagram he's like dollars we don't do that we live in the shadows I go dude I was on the news for 10 years I am not in the shadow we are not in the shadow yeah your husband so supportive what's the secret to your relationship if there is one I think we both think we're punching I think we both think that we're doing that the other is just better you know what I mean and I think that that means that you're constantly fighting for them do you know what I mean sorry for them rooting for them to succeed as I mean well no like you kind of just want to call their attention like you know what I mean yeah not that I not that I need to do that like he's my husband we have two kids and I know that we're we're very secure in our marriage um I think we're also just ultra realistic like we both know that life ebbs and flows and we know that there are times that are hard and there are times that are easy and sometimes the hard times last longer and sometimes the easy times last longer and marriage requires work and two people change over the years so that open stream of communication really helps we're constantly having conversations about where we are where we're at mentally in life and and what we can do to help one another um how we can support one another so I think that really helps um but yeah I think we're both just obsessed with each other so wonderful isn't isn't that great you you know how you said at the beginning of our chat that you're just so happy and you feel like you're living I mean that is just it's it's all about the person who and you can choose so it's all about the person who you've chosen to live your whole life and I just yeah yeah that's so cool um sorry I had a question let me just think about it no you've you've been so on I'm so impressed I'm I'm like fuck yeah I'm feeling inspired oh yeah I remember now okay um so what's next for you oh that's a good question um well we're always working on something I cannot disclose as of yet but we're always working on something something's always happening in the background my husband and I I think we're a really good team and we both have we're both have very strong ambitions so um we're always looking to do the next thing that's gonna kind of improve on our lives is there an industry or uh yeah I guess the section of the industry that you're most passionate about um as in what I'm doing now like is it you know if I think about you right now is it clothing is it oh sure is it media is it podcasting I think if I could if I could focus if I could hone in on one thing I feel like I've done the influencing I'm very familiar with it I'm comfortable with it I know what I'm doing entertainment would be my next kind of goal um I'd love to do more in that kind of sector because I'm loving the podcasting um I feel very comfortable and natural talking and I love the idea of being more involved in entertainment keeping up with jade yeah that what I'm seeing that would be an interesting that would be I think everyone would watch it all right but quick top um I'm getting tired now back to back okay uh quick fire questions for you to wrap up okay um what is your five minute beauty routine or two minutes that you're able to do now as a as a mom of two okay we're running out the door we need SPF we need a bit of a tint something tinted we need a bit of blush and then a gloss that's my like really refined pull it together in five minutes which blush um that's a good question um I'm gonna have to say pink pop or is it pop oh my god is it that is is that I'm wearing what I'm wearing make it that is so well obviously it's the best color obviously I'm gonna say pink pop to that oh you didn't have to I've seen you know but I wear it and I love it oh my gosh it is and I'm wearing it on my lips yeah no me too I put it on my lips too and yes and put on my eyes okay sorry I do that too I feel like no one does the eyes and I just wash my eyes and oh my gosh you did too that's so funny yeah and a last little day and oh my gosh yeah I love it I you don't have to I was like in the car and I was touching up my makeup and I was like I don't even need to touch it up you know sometimes like the blushes disappear into it it doesn't because I'm a blush girl so I've been wearing blushes I was like 40 I love blush while you were influencing I was pretty on makeup at the school bathroom blush that you know what and back then people didn't wear blush people were wearing nude by nature yes and it covered their whole face and everyone was like it it was very cakey yes and then you put the foundation on your lips yes exactly why did we do that who started that train lip liner and pink pop way better okay well aside from pink pop one product it can be anything or a vitamin that you can't live without um that I can't live without a good hairbrush oh yeah I mean you've got amazing hair thank you um a mum hack that's changed your life oh okay mum hack mum hack oh that's a really good question I don't know if it's a hack but just like having something up your sleeve to distract your toddler when they're having a tantrum you know what do you have what's up your sleeve well like the like the art of destruction is very important so I've always got like a I'm always thinking about what I can distract him with you know something that's like exciting um it might be something in the room like I might just I might just be aware of what's in the room that I can have his attention to like I don't know I'm thinking ahead yeah do you know what I mean so it's like if you if you're on top of the tantrum before it even starts you can get that you can mitigate it you know what I love is otherwise in the moment you're like the toddlers like screaming and you're like oh and then you break out and then you can't think clearly and it's like no stop doing that and then you lose your way so if you're there before it happens you can get on top of it pretty quickly and last question one thing that you're letting go this year I am oh I'm letting go of my of any negative thoughts about myself specifically appearance related because that's not fair and it's not very nice and I've got to be a good role model to my kids and I think being confident is the best way to do that thank you this was really good happy mother's day happy mother's day to you too
