At Naked Sundays
We’re not just about sunscreen; we’re about protecting and educating our community. This campaign serves as a reminder to prioritise skin health and take proactive steps against skin cancer.
Today marks our 4th Birthday, and we couldn’t think of a better moment to launch our inaugural “Check Your Spots” campaign. This initiative is close to our hearts and a vital reminder of the importance of skin health.
#CheckYourSpots
"I've always been very blase about sun coverage and sunscreen. After moving to Australia, I wasn't very careful. There were a few years where I was just going hard and tanning and didn't think too much of it.
I noticed a tiny little black dot on my arm - Over just a few months, it grew really quickly. I went to get my skin checked and the doctor said straight away, 'I'm going to take a biopsy' So it was a little bit scary. I had caught it early and I had taken action.
Please check your spots.

"It did just look like a pimple. I got it checked a few days later and one week after that, I was in hospital getting surgery. I had more than 20 staples put in my head after getting a basal cell carcinoma cut out.
Just hearing the word cancer, no matter what kind of cancer, your heart just sinks out of your body. I was so scared.
The cancer was on my part line, the way I had parted my hair for about 15 years. I was putting sunscreen on my face, I was putting sunscreen on my arms but I had never thought about my scalp. So protect your scalp."

"I thought it would never happen to me. I'm Brazilian. I have more of a dark skin tone. I thought I was I'm immune to that and it's not true.
My message now is take care of yourself. Use sunscreen. You don't want to lose your life on such a small thing."
