Naked Sundays: FDA & TGA Listings Validated through Multi-Lab Independent Testing for SPF & UVA Efficacy
All Naked Sundays products are Validated Through Multiple Independent, Accredited Laboratory Testing for Broad Spectrum SPF & UVA Efficacy
At Naked Sundays our testing methodology not only adheres to the strict standards set forth by the TGA & FDA, but we ensure that we do this at multiple accredited global labs to ensure consistency.
Every sunscreen we sell is independently tested at multiple accredited laboratories before any labeling is finalised, and to verify the accuracy of the tests.
All tests are also verified by TGA & FDA independent regulatory bodies, to ensure we adhere to international regulatory requirements.
This rigorous, multi-lab, multi-jurisdiction testing approach is our standard practice for all current and future products, whether classified as cosmetics or listed therapeutic goods.
Furthermore, we remain closely engaged with regulatory updates from local authorities to swiftly address and comply with any evolving testing requirements or standards.
There are up to FIVE types of independent tests PER LAB that where appropriate, our products undergo, before we are able to list them on the TGA or FDA, including;
- SPF Test – ISO 24444 (AS/NZS 2604:2012):
This internationally recognized method, based on the Australian/New Zealand standard, determines the product's SPF rating to measure UVB protection. - SPF Test – FDA Static Method:
Conducted according to the U.S. FDA guidelines, this test verifies the product's SPF under controlled, static conditions. - UVA Test – FDA Broad Spectrum Method (21 CFR 201.327(j):
An in-vitro test that measures UVA Protection Factor (UVA-PF) to confirm compliance with FDA requirements for broad-spectrum protection. - UVA Test – ISO 24443:2021:
This standardized in-vitro method determines the level of UVA protection to support PA ratings and international labeling standards. - Water Resistance Test – ISO 24444 (AS/NZS 2604:2012):
For applicable products, this in-vivo test measures SPF performance after 80 minutes of water immersion, verifying water resistance claims. (For a selection of products)
Even our products that are exempt from the TGA like BeautyScreen (due to tints being exempt from the TGA) - they are still all tested by these methods and to both FDA and TGA standards.
We look forward to constructive dialogue with the TGA on how they will be working to establish a more consistent and standardized approach to testing protocols across accredited laboratories and provide a unified framework to support greater efficiency and trust across the industry.
